8 million tonnes and Starbucks guilt

Did you see this bottle?

single use plastic

It’s a Fairy Liquid bottle, that’s at least 47 years old.

It was washed up on Brean Beach in Somerset last week, along with 400 tonnes of rubbish.

And what’s amazing is the condition the bottle is in still. I say amazing,

I mean depressing.

You see, over 8 million tonnes of plastic enter our oceans every year, and as this bottle of Fairy proves, that plastic doesn’t go anywhere, other than from coast-to-coast, destroying the ocean, compromising its inhabitants and slowly (although not that slowly) destroying our earth.

Quite rightly, there’s been a backlash against single-use plastic over the last year or so, but is it just me that thinks things are changing too slowly?

We pay lip service to the idea of eliminating single-use plastic, but we’ll still grab a bottle of water from the petrol station, or get a single-use coffee cup from Costa without a moment’s hesitation.

So what can be done?

Well, i’m no tree hugger, but from where I’m sitting, I think we need to do something to reduce this use of single use items. So I’m going to dedicate the next couple of weeks to highlighting some of things we’re doing that we shouldn’t be doing, and some of the things we’re NOT doing that we should consider doing.

And today, I’d just like to make you aware that we do offer reusable coffee cups – these can be branded with your logo and colours, and make a great gift for customers and prospects – click HERE to check them out.

Oh, and if you’re one of the first 25 to email me with the subject ‘FREE Expert Branding coffee cup’, I’ll send you an Expert Branding coffee cup for free! No strings attached, just email me, tell me what your address is, and I’ll get one in the post to you.

No more guilt at Starbucks!

All under control (?)

It’s funny how one minute you think you’ve got it all under control, and then suddenly everything changes. It happened to me last week! In
